Groningen/Draw double chance away to Heracles
This is the first of two Dutch top-flight games taking place on Thursday night and mid-table Groningen are the outsiders even though they face a team threatened with relegation.
Although Groningen’s record on the road this season is not particularly strong, they should be able to avoid defeat as they have lost only one of their last eight games and Heracles have been beaten in all of their latest four.
Ajax v AZ Alkmaar – Both Teams To Score
Ajax are clear in second place in the table and AZ Alkmaar fifth, but we do not see this as being a home banker as the visitors are pretty good on their travels.
Of Alkmaar’s 35 points, 17 of them have come away from home and so backing at least one goal for each side looks the best option in this game for the accumulator.
Panthrakikos v Kalloni – Under 2.5 Goals
Into the Greek Super League now for the only match in that division on Thursday and goals are expected to be in short supply.
That is because Panthrakikos home games are invariably low-scoring – every single one of the 10 they have played so far this season has finished either 1-0, 1-1 or 1-0 and there seems no reason why this should be an exception.
Rizespor/Draw double chance at home to Besiktas
This is a Turkish Cup tie and Rizespor, who this week signed Kyle Lafferty on loan from Norwich City, could be difficult for Besiktas to break down.
The home side are regaining confidence after a poor couple of months with only one defeat in their last four games and could eke out a positive result at the end of 90 minutes.
