Everton come into this game in some poor form, after having won just 1 of their last 9 league games. The Toffees currently sit in 12th place on 22 points, just 3 points above the drop zone. Everton's recent record at Goodison Park reads an average-looking W6, D4, L5.
When hosting teams of West Brom's stature, Everton's home record reads a very positive-looking W8, D0, L2 and Everton can be backed at around 1.88. This price looks to offer some small value.
The recent head-to-head record at Goodison Park reads Everton 2 Wins, 1 Draw, and QPR 1 Win.
The draw can be backed at around 3.60 and although this should not be discounted, it offers little value.
Tony Pulis won his first game in charge of the Baggies when West Brom registered their first win in 5 games against Hull last weekend. This moved West Brom into 14thplace on 21 points, only 1 point behind today's opponents. West Brom's recent away record reads a mediocre-looking W3, D3, L9, and they have only taken 2 points from their last 5 away games.
When facing teams of Everton's grading, West Brom's away record reads W3, D1, L6, and West Brom can be backed at around 4.90. If you do fancy West Brom to do well here, then you are certainly best keeping the draw on your side and West Brom can back be backed on the +0.5 Asian Handicap at around 2.09.
As far as goals are concerned and with the line set at 2.0/2.5, then we have some mixed stats, especially when looking at both side's general form. West Brom have seen 3 or more goals in only 4 of their last 15 away games, however Everton have seen 3 or more goals in 10 of their last 15 home games. When looking at both side's last 10 home and away games against similar opposition, we can see that in the 20 games, 12 have seen 3 or more goals, and 8 games have seen 2 or less goals scored. My ratings suggest small value in Over 2.0/2.5 Goals and this can be backed at around 1.87.
This looks a good match-up and West Brom under their new manager Tony Pulis, are bound to be a tough nut to crack. Although my ratings suggest value in Over 2.5 Goals, for my trade, I am going to turn to the match line where Everton do have a very strong home record against teams of West Brom's stature. The Pulis factor has been priced into this game and my ratings suggest Everton offer some decent value. My recommended trade is Everton -0.5 at around 1.88.
