Andy Murray cruised through his Australian Open second match with Joao Sousa, beating the Portuguese 6-1, 6-1, 7-5 and after the match things started to get even better for the British number one in Melbourne.
Murray watched as Roger Federer crashed out the tournament to Italian Andreas Seppi, bursting open the draw for the Scot, and the bookmakers now make him the second favourite to go all the way and lift the Australian Open title.
The first obstacle in Murray's way is Grigor Dimitrov and there is some unfinished business between the pair after Dimitrov beat Murray at Wimbledon last year. After the match the Bulgarian stated that he knew in the warm up that something was wrong with Murray and so it proved as the Brit was beaten in straight sets.
Murray gained a bit of revenge at the Paris Masters but he will want to fully rid himself of that result by beating Dimitrov on Saturday night in Melbourne. He's a 1/3 favourite to win the match and most people will be expecting the double Grand Slam champion to come through against a player who has only ever once reached a semi-final at one of the four majors (at Wimbledon last year).
