Matches in English League Two, the Copa del Rey and the Portuguese Cup combine for our Thursday accumulator that pays over 36/5 (8.20).
Go to William Hill Thursday games page and back the following fourfold bet which would return £82.13 for a £10 stake if all correct (individual odds in brackets):
Luton Town +1 at home to Shrewsbury Town (1/2)
Sevilla to win away to Granada (19/20)
Barcelona to win to nil at home to Elche (4/9)
Maritimo v Nacional – both teams to score (19/20)
William Hill are offering competitive odds for all four selections, the reasoning for which is as follows:
Both these clubs are in the top five of League Two and it’s Shrewsbury whom the bookmakers are quoting as favourites to win this game, perhaps because Luton have failed to win any of their last three.
But the Hatters, knocked out of the FA Cup by Cambridge United on Saturday, are still fancied to get a result with five players due to return to the squad after illness or injury.
Sevilla have an excellent La Liga record against Granada in the last few seasons having won five of the last six meetings, averaging over three goals per game in doing so.
They can extend their dominance to this Copa del Rey last-16 first leg, especially as Granada have collected only one victory in their last 15 outings – the one that sent them through to this round.
Barcelona have been described as a “crisis club” in the media, but that is a huge exaggeration because they are still right in contention to collect three major trophies this season.
They are overwhelming favourites to win against Elche and it will be a shock if they cannot do so with a clean sheet to boot.
Our final selection is from the Portuguese Cup and features Maritimo, who score plenty of goals at home, against a Nacional side with a strong record in the head-to-head between these clubs.
Nacional are unbeaten in their last four meetings with the team from Funchal, the capital of Madeira, and both they and the home side should get on the scoresheet.
