The Reds have had their struggles of late, we all know that. A Top Four finish looks increasingly unlikely after their successive defeats to Manchester United and Arsenal - so much so the dreaded 'crisis' word has been mentioned.
All this does though is make the FA Cup extra important. If Liverpool finish 5th and win the FA Cup - there can't be too many complaints. With Luis Suarez leaving and Daniel Sturridge injured - this would be a decent reflection of where there at.
So - it's pretty important they beat Blackburn on Wednesday.
This means they'll play their strongest possible side, with Raheem Sterling, Sturridge and co in the starting XI. You'd expect Adam Lallana to start the game too as the away side look to book their place in the last four.
They've won a few times on the road in the FA Cup this season and this will help their belief ahead of this one. A hard fought 2-1 win at Bolton was a similar test to this one and they'd be happy with more of the same.
Perhaps with everyone writing them off - it's time for Liverpool to show what they're made of.
