Algeria suffered a somewhat disappointing African Cup of Nations campaign in January, a group-stage defeat to Ghana meaning their first knockout match was against the Ivory Coast and they were duly eliminated 3-1.
But the North Africans, who impressed at last summer’s World Cup, should be good enough to account for the hosts of the 2022 tournament on their trip to Doha.
Ivory Coast to win at home to Angola (17:00 GMT)
It took the Ivory Coast a while to find their stride at the African Cup of Nations and although they ultimately prevailed only on penalties in the final against Ghana, they were the best team in the knockout phase.
Herve Renard has called up all his big names for two friendly matches in four days and the Elephants should be good enough to overcome Angola.
Chile to win against Iran (19:00 GMT)
The Austrian city of St Polten is hosting this game and Chile should get a win under their belt before facing Brazil at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.
Alexis Sanchez, Arturo Vidal and Eduardo Vargas are likely to play some part for the South American side and they should be too strong for Carlos Queiroz’s men.
France v Brazil – Under 2.5 Goals (20:00 GMT)
Brazil have bounced back well under returned coach Dunga following their World Cup capitulation but could be thwarted at the Stade de France.
Les Bleus are very solid at the back with an excellent defensive record both during and since the World Cup and can be fancied not to give too much away.
